- The HI931101 is a rugged, waterproof, portable sodium content meter. This meter offers many features including automatic calibration, automatic temperature compensation, and on-screen instructions. There are four measurement ranges for sodium content, and a simple press of the MODE button allows for measurement of sodium ion activity.
- Five Measurement Ranges
- Automatic Calibration
- On-Screen Instructions
- The HI931101 is a rugged, portable sodium content and activity meter designed to provide laboratory precision and accuracy under harsh conditions. This meter is ideal for a variety of applications in laboratories, food and beverage production, and water quality analysis. The HI931101 offers a variety of features including five distinct measurement ranges, automatic calibration to 1 or 2 points, temperature compensation, and on-screen instructions.
- The HI931101 uses a BNC probe input for connecting the sodium ISE and a separate RCA connector for a thermistor temperature probe. The temperature probe provides for a high ±0.2 oC accuracy measurement for precise temperature readings.
Features at-a-glance
- One or Two-Point Calibration – Automatic calibration can be performed at 1 or 2 points with a choice of 3 buffers (0.23 g/L, 2.3 g/L, and 23.0 g/L). For greater accuracy, standard solutions should be calibrated at a temperature as close as possible to the temperature of the sample.
- On-Screen Instructions – Clear and easy to use on-screen instructions take you through all of the steps in performing a calibration and taking measurements.
- Sodium Ion Selective Electrode – The HI931101 should be used with the FC300B (not included) sodium ion selective electrode, comprising a glass body and sodium sensitive membrane. The sodium sensitive membrane should be conditioned before performing a calibration. The conditioning of the electrode is a two-step process in which the glass is etched then rehydrated. Etching removes a thin layer of sensitive glass from the sodium membrane, exposing a sodium-containing fresh surface. Rehydrating after etching provides optimum conditions for the exchange of sodium ions between the membrane and solution.
- Fixed Temperature Compensation – The HI931101 offers fixed temperature compensation of sodium measurements at 25°C.
