Anyone who has used a desktop “drawer style” oven has experienced the frustration that comes with the inability to accurately track a reflow profile (regardless of what the screen says), the inability to heat the bottom of the board, burned components and unmelted solder. These ovens can give acceptable results for small board prototypes, but they can’t handle large boards or production.

The only practical approach for professional results is a multi-zone conveyor oven. Until now, there were few choices at an affordable price. The Madell R330 has 3 zones, requires a heavy workbench, and costs $3500 on sale. We can do better.

The T5L costs hundreds of dollars less than the Madell. And it has 5 zones, including bottom and side heating zones, which the Madell lacks. With a 300mm conveyor width, the T5L can handle large boards with ease.
